Duane Matthess – Head Coach

Duane Matthess joins the Clarke Football Program in the spring of 2017 after spending most of his life in eastern Iowa. Most recently, Coach Matthess was the varsity defensive coordinator at Center Point-Urbana High School. Coach Matthess is extremely excited to move the Clarke Football Program forward here in Osceola by creating a foundation for success. Matthess is originally from Tipton, Iowa where he was an All-District defensive tackle, as well as a conference champion wrestler. After high school Matthess attended Iowa Central Community College where he Played Tight End and different positions on the Offensive Line. After college Matthess played two seasons in the Indoor Football League and had stints with the Quad Cities Steamwheelers, Fargo Freeze, and Madison Mad Dogs. Coach Matthess got married in October of 2008 to his wife Sara, who is a 1994 graduate of Newton High School. They have four children Tavius, Tate, Isabelle, and Landon as well as two rambunctious Boston Terrier’s Coach & Chloe.
